Nestled between Detroit and Ann Arbor in southeastern Michigan, Canton is a Detroit suburb away from the bustle of the city but still convenient to many area attractions. Canton is served by Detroit's public transit system and several local taxi companies, and Detroit Metropolitan Airport is just a short drive away. With several courses in the area, including Pheasant Run Golf Club right in town, golfers have plenty of options. North of Canton at Maybury State Park, nearly 1000 acres (404 ha) of forest, meadows and grassland play host to hiking, horseback riding, fishing and other outdoor pursuits. Whether learning about local history at the Canton Historical Museum or watching a live musical or theatrical performance at Village Theater at Cherry Hill, Canton has a number of attractions worth exploring.
